Process for Project Catalyst

User Interviews:

Interviews were setup and moderator by a contract researcher. The discussions were with healthcare workers usually known as case managers or care coordinators. CMs are common users for other CarePort and Allscripts products as well as competitor products like those from Epic. We learned about what they do throughout the workday, each task that might come up and the methods that they use to complete them. These methods might include healthcare software, email, phone, fax, etc. We also tried to understand their goals and why they need to complete each task.

After user interviews our team ran a couple product planning exercises including developing journey maps, personas and use cases.

Sorting notes:

When reviewing all notes from user interviews and discussions with the team about what uses cases we wanted to cover in the product, I sorted these use cases and other notes on user goals and values in larger concepts for the UI. This helped me visualize how the product might need to be structured before starting mockups.
